The walls are a mix of lightweight construction (glass) and heavyweight construction(blockwork and concrete) trombe wall with air gap between two layers of block.
The attrium is a central landscaped area measuring 40x40mts for the leisure of the visitors and the employees along with gardens provided at every level.
The glazed conference and meeting rooms along with all the internal rooms provides a picturesque view of the central green area.
The large overhangs prevent direct sunlight to heat up the building also protecting against heavy rainfall, persistent to the terrain.
Skylights have been provided in the roof to allow maximum penetration of light from the roof. Also multiple roof are provided at different levels such that the hot air rises and easily escape from the gap between the two roofs.
The structure was designed to showcase the technological prowess of the company, and to send a message of high-end technology rested in the global ethos. The design of the building has been done per the GRIHA rating system. The building is a single mass at the basement levels but divides into two wings at the ground level and above ground again connecting at the roof level. A garden atrium has been provided at the center of the building, which is open from the front and back of the building providing for barrier-free air movement.
Punjab National Bank (PNB) is the second largest state-owned commercial bank in India. PNB founded in 1895 is the third largest bank in India in terms of asset size. With the growth of the banking sector in India’s growing economy, there comes a need for a new office building. The client brief was for a corporate office and needed a building that was to be iconic for the upcoming sub-city of Dwarka.
